If you’re interested in joining us as a professional carer your first step is to apply to one of the roles advertised on our website – you can see all our vacancy listings here. Select the job you wish to apply for and fill in our online application form. It will only take a few minutes and you will be asked to attach your CV.
Our recruitment team will screen your application and if you’re successful, you will be invited for an interview. This is a great opportunity for us get to know you better and for you to get to know us. We will answer all of your questions and learn more about your skills and experiences. We will discuss the role you have applied for and give you as much information as possible about Prestige Nursing & Care.
Once your interview date and time is confirmed we will send you an email with instructions on how to log on to our Professional Carers portal (also known as Members Portal). Before your interview, we will ask that you complete our online application form and submit your candidate details to assist with your application.
Professional carers and registered nurses recruitment process
When confirming your interview, by phone or face-to-face, we’re going to request your paperwork which enables us to apply for your DBS and references. Due to the nature of the work with vulnerable people it’s necessary to complete these regulated checks as soon as possible. If you have any questions, please let us know and your recruiter will assist.
Proof of eligibility to work in the UK. This could be:
- Passport to include any visa or WRS documents for non-EU citizens (for student visas we will need to see a copy of your enrolment letter & study timetable)
- Birth certificate (short birth certificates will not be accepted)
- Adoption certificate
Additional ID – one of the following:
- Full or provisional driving license
- Marriage certificate
- Change of name (by deed poll)
Two proofs of address dated within three months of interview date. They could be:
- Bank/building society statement
- Benefit statement
- Council tax letter (dated for the year ahead)
- Credit card statement
- Financial statement
- Letter from Head Teacher or College Principal
- Mortgage statement
- P45/P60
- Driving license photo card and paper part
- Utility bill- either one of the following – Gas, Electric, Water, Phone (Landline phone only, not mobiles)
What we need from you
We will also ask for the following documentation once you’ve been successful at interview stage:
- National Insurance Number
- Proof of national insurance number, which can also be used for ID purposes.
References
We require two professional references, one of which should be your current or most recent employer. Please bring details of their name, company/organisation address, email and work contact number
Qualifications and training documentation
Carers:
- NVQ / QCF certificates
- Care Certificate & Portfolio
- Any other relevant training certificates
Qualified nurses:
- NMC Number
- Additional qualifications and training certificates
DBS / PVG checks
We conduct DBS checks in England and PVG checks in Scotland at your local branch. Unless you’re registered with the update service, you will be required to apply for one.
Offers
It’s always great news when you have been successful! Please note that all offers are subject to satisfactory references, completion of training, DBS / PVG approval, and successful completion of your training programme. It is also subject to confirmation of your right to work in the UK and confirmation that you are free to take up and carry out the work offered to you no later than seven days from your training start date. This offer is valid for seven days from the date of the offer.
